Abstract
The study evaluated the evolution of the coast between Ancón and Anconcito (Santa Elena Peninsula) in 2020-2021 using GIS techniques and the Coastal Dynamics Analysis System (DSAS). Two parameters were analyzed: net shoreline movement (NSM) and linear regression rate (LRR). Data was collected with a UAV, images were processed and spatial analysis was performed. The NSM indicated that 94.34% of the transects (spaced every 10 m) showed erosion, with a maximum net movement of 5.19 m. The average rate of change was -0.64 m/year, with a maximum of 3.5 m/year at transept 26. In general, the Ancón-Anconcito coast experiences erosion at an average rate of 0.64 m/year. 5.66% of the coastal profile did not show erosion, while the remaining 94.34% did.
