Abstract
The excavator is heavy machinery that is used in different sectors such as mining, construction, infrastructure, and agriculture. That is why the present study focused on the static and fatigue analysis of a Volvo EC460 excavator bucket using ANSYS Workbench software. In the static regime, the maximum stresses, deformations and safety factor were determined, while in the fatigue analysis, the fatigue life, safety factor and fatigue sensitivity were explored. The results obtained reveal that the excavator bucket exhibits outstanding structural robustness, with a safety factor of 4.98 and 2.18 under static and fatigue conditions, respectively. These findings suggest that the bucket is designed to resist both creep and fatigue failures.
