Abstract
Summary – The study carried out focused on improving the commercial management of a Tailor Shop through the design and implementation of a web system. The hypotheses raised about the improvement in sales, rental and order processes were supported by research with a causal correlational scope. A quantitative approach was chosen using the Likert scale as an instrument to collect data and statistical analysis supported by the Student's T test to evaluate the proposed hypotheses. The population consisted of 15 employees, where census sampling was applied for the research. The development of the system was based on the Extreme Programming (XP) methodology, divided into Planning, Design, Coding and Testing, with the use of specific tools to structure the development process. The results obtained from the Likert scale survey showed a clear improvement in all aspects evaluated after the implementation of the web system. Statistical analyzes confirmed these improvements, showing that the system contributed positively to the management of sales, rentals, orders, visualization of transactions, among other aspects. The findings revealed that a detailed understanding of the internal processes of tailoring was essential. The XP methodology proved to be effective for the development of the web system, focused on business needs. The implementation of the web system validated the proposed hypotheses and marked a significant improvement in the commercial and operational management of the tailoring business, surpassing conventional methods.
