Abstract
Abstract– The use of recycled concrete in the construction of granular pavement bases was evaluated, following the technical specifications of the Highway Manual. Construction and demolition waste (RCD) was obtained from the sanitary landfill in the province of Cajamarca, which was processed in an aggregate crushing plant to obtain recycled concrete aggregate. Three types of materials were used: 100% recycled aggregate, 100% affirmed, and 50%/50% blended aggregate. Several tests were carried out to verify compliance with the physical and mechanical properties established in the Highway Manual, such as granulometry, % fractured particles, abrasion, plasticity index, % flat and elongated particles, Modified Proctor, sand equivalent and Relative Value. of Support (CBR). The results were favorable for the 100% recycled aggregate and the 50% combined aggregate, reaching a %CBR of 120.33% and 86.33%, respectively. These findings validated the proposed hypothesis and demonstrated an improvement in the physical-mechanical properties through the use of recycled concrete, even exceeding the values established by the Highway Manual.
