Abstract
The main objective of the present investigation is to evaluate the influence of the steel fiber in concrete specimens with low resistance to compression and bending. For this, a systematic investigation of sources was carried out, selected under a criterion of exclusion and inclusion. Being useful 4 sources that gave us tests elaborated in different proportions of steel and / or characteristics of the concrete, for the time of 28 days of hardening. Likewise, the characteristics of steel are explained, as well as the concept of resistance to compression and bending. The results of this research showed the following: The presence of steel fibers in concrete improves flexural strength considerably, since an increase of 15 and 36% is observed, compared to concrete without fiber. Likewise, in the case of compressive strength, the variation in strength was not much compared to concrete without steel fiber.
