Abstract
In this work we do a short literature review about the importance of empowerment in the development of organizational capacity. The methodology was a qualitative approach, with a descriptive scope and non-experimental design. The research results revealed that empowerment is an organizational management tool that allows increasing the level of commitment of human talent since the proper management and operation of other resources depends on them; which translates into the achievement of strategic objectives; this article intends to performs a bibliographical review of this management tool, which from an organizational analysis, will highlight the benefits that in this case it goes to on SMEs in the port sector of Guayaquil.
