Abstract
The objective of this research project is to determine the influence of nylon fiber in an asphalt mix, using the Marshall method, which had to comply with the requirements for the bituminous concrete mix of the MTC E 504 regulations. Where the Marshall test was carried out for the unmodified asphalt mix and those modified with nylon fiber. There was a stability of 9.14 Kn. In traditional mix, for the asphalt mix with 1.0%, 1.5% and 2.0% nylon fiber we have 9.48 Kn.,10.193 Kn. And 11,087 Kn. Regarding flow we have a 9.8 mm for a traditional mix, for 1.0%, 1.5% and 2.0% nylon fiber we have 9.627 mm, 10.247 mm and 11.06 mm. For the percentage of voids, there was 4.044% for a traditional asphalt mix, for 1.0%, 1.5% and 2.0% of nylon fiber we have 3.781%, 3.975% and 3.809% void. It is positively concluded in the properties of the asphalt mixture with the Marshall method adding the different percentages of Nylon fiber and the optimal amount of Nylon fiber of 2.00% was determined.
