Abstract

Objective: To know the bibliometric and engineering aspects regarding the management of the SMED tool to improve productivity from a systematic review between 2012 - 2022. Methods: Using the keywords, a systematic search of articles in English and Spanish was carried out in the databases Scielo, Redalyc, Dialnet, DataScope, ScienceDirect, Elsevier, EBSCO, Core, Publisher and Google academic; published in the study period with a total of 10 databases. The evaluation of SMED tool management to improve productivity in industrial companies was carried out by analyzing engineering and diagnostic tools, as well as the effects on productivity in various industrial organizations. Result: Most of the research was conducted on the management of the SMED tool where 61% improved productivity in the industrial sector considering the review of 18 articles where 10 of them mention the importance of implementation and application of the SMED tool in industrial companies as it reduces preparation time and increases productivity. Conclusions: The SMED tool in industrial companies achieved a 42% improvement in time, 35% improvement in productivity, 15% improvement in costs and 8% reduction in wastage.
