Abstract
The present investigation was carried out with the objective of explaining the incidence of the delinquent portfolio in the economic results of the Rural Banks of Peru during the periods from 2016 to 2020. To carry out the study, the documentary analysis technique was used, the data were Extracted from the portal of the Superintendency of Banking and Insurance and Pension Fund Administrators (SBS), the main results showed that at the end of 2020 the delinquent portfolio and the high-risk portfolio had indicators of 8.46% and 11.23% respectively. , during the same period, a return on assets (ROA) and a return on equity (ROE) of -1.73% and -10.06% respectively were obtained, throughout 2020 due to the state of emergency of COVID 19 the financial system in as a whole was one of the most affected sectors, thus triggering, for December 2020, a loss for the Rural Bank System of S/50,340,000, it was concluded with a coefficient of correction Pearson's elation of -0.712, the same one that expresses that the delinquent portfolio negatively affects the economic results of the Rural Banks of Peru during the periods from 2016 to 2020.
