Abstract
The objective of this work is to identify the impacts caused by the commercialization of minerals. The methodology used was based on a bibliographic search, identifying articles, books, web pages, etc. These were analyzed using critical reading techniques. The results indicate that social conflicts are caused by the environmental impacts generated by mining, since in the process of obtaining concentrates and their subsequent refining they produce greenhouse gas emissions, wastewater and mine tailings, also when transporting the concentrate there are losses of material that impact the air, soil, water and society. It is concluded that the commercialization of minerals produces environmental and social impacts, mainly in the areas near the mining project, causing damage to the environment and people's health; in addition, the processing and refining stage generates emissions and toxic effluents that damage the environment. Moreover, when transporting concentrates, a 0.2% loss is generated, which spreads in the form of dust to the surrounding areas, causing great damage to the flora and fauna and even to the seabed.
