Abstract
The scholarship system of the Instituto de Protecciones de Sistemas Eléctricos de Potencia (IPSEP) has more than 20 years of history, but rarely thought about the impact that these generate in the training of students. In this work, an analysis of the multiple teachings and competences that allow to acquire the scholarships in this particular institute is carried out, and allows to think about the scholarship system as a transversal accompaniment of the students. In this way, to revalue and highlight the importance they have had (for more than 20 years) and still have in the training of future engineers, offering an opportunity to acquire those skills that are more difficult to incorporate with the activity within the curriculum and the classroom environment. Competencies such as performing effectively in work teams in a professional environment, is something that is developed in the institution since the first year of university. Since, from that moment on, students can be part of the team.
