Abstract
Annually, the construction industry consumes immense amounts of natural and potable water, a fact that is already generating scarcity problems worldwide. The present systematic review aims to determine what has been the effect of wastewater treatment as a strategy for concrete manufacturing during 2018-2022, this in order to give scopes to the scientific community about a possible alternative resource to solve the problem. After searching for information in various electronic databases, 25 documents that develop the variables "treated wastewater" and "concrete" were selected. On the one hand, bibliometrics was applied to determine the scientific activity on the subject. On the other hand, to determine the effect of treated wastewater on concrete, its fresh, solid and durability properties were analyzed. Finally, it was concluded that it is possible to take advantage of treated wastewater instead of natural/potable water, since the variations in the properties of concrete are minimal. Some recommendations were also made to try to make the problem more visible.
