Abstract
The use of automatic control methods in irrigation channels is an application that improves the management of irrigation systems. The method used in this research is the so-called Generalized Predictive Control (GPC) in the old imperial irrigation canal located in the city of Cañete in Peru. For this, we developed the mathematical model that describes the dynamic behavior of the irrigation channel and applied the design of the predictive control system of the plant, to control the opening of the gate, which is implemented in the MATLAB-SIMULINK environment through simulation. to study its effectiveness, as well as its benefits.
