Abstract
Emerging technologies are very relevant to promote meaningful learning and as a boost for a quality educational system. Educational models based on the acquisition of skills are favoring the application of methodological proposals that encourage interaction, knowledge construction, autonomous and cooperative learning. In scientific-technological disciplines, real laboratory practices are essential in learning, however, there are many technical, budgetary and organizational limitations in the educational use of these laboratories. These drawbacks, added to the growing availability of multimedia and interactive technology, have facilitated the introduction of new educational tools such as remote laboratories, which allow the simulation and reproduction of the working conditions of an experimental laboratory. On the other hand, the demand for energy in the world continues to grow thanks to the increase in the world population and technological development. Energy production from fossil fuels is undoubtedly generating polluting gases that cause the greenhouse effect and drastically alter the composition of the earth's atmosphere, so renewable energies are a promising alternative to alleviate the associated environmental, economic and energy complications. Thus, applying sustainability principles to generate mechanisms and innovative proposals that contribute to the search for the reduction of Greenhouse Gases becomes relevant. Virtual spaces such as remote laboratories favor the learning of topics of this nature. This paper presents the results of applying different energy systems from renewable sources through the simulation of energy changes in virtual laboratories with the purpose of strengthening the skills that allow students to generate specific strategies and actions to promote development. sustainability in marginalized communities in Mexico in order to turn them off grid communities, improve the quality of life, access to electricity and quality water, from different social perspectives and considering current regulations. The results show the development of disciplinary and transversal skills with the methodology proposed in this research, because digital tools allow activities to be carried out with sufficient fidelity to achieve meaningful learning.
