Abstract
The gender gap in the participation students enrolled in the Engineering School at Universidad Nacional de Colombia is between 60.4% - 64.1%. For the last 7 years, a 7.3% decrease in the gap was found for the academic period of 2020-2S in the database of students graduating from the School. It is observed that there is a higher failure rate by men in the 3 subjects analyzed, with a less marked difference in the differential calculus course. Also, it is observed that in the analyzed period and for the three subjects, the probability that female students of the Engineering School obtain higher grades than men is greater. This article establishes that gender is not a determining factor in the performance of students in a STEM career.
