Abstract

The country's economic activity is represented by 7.9% of manufacturing companies; the paper and cardboard industries are among them, representing 11.3% of the economic activity analyzed until 2018, that is why companies must seek adequate control of their processes, maintain quality standards, reduce waste over time of production and achieve a good utilization of its machinery. For this reason, based on the analysis of the Real Production Efficiency, worldwide 85% has been achieved as a base value in which the company under study is below that value. The main purpose of this research is to increase the efficiency in the production line of a small and medium-sized manufacturing company in the paper and/or cardboard sector, through the reduction of unproductive times that occur in one of the manufacturing processes and products. defective. The contribution that is focused on increasing productivity, efficiency, increasing profitability and reducing the economic impact that is being witnessed in the company. To develop the solution to this problem, the tools of the Lean Manufacturing philosophy will be taken into account, which are the pillars of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), which are Corrective and Preventive Maintenance and Quick Tool Change (SMED), additionally, the Jidoka tool and 5S. In the same way, indicate that the main reason why the proposal was chosen is to maximize the resources of the paper and/or cardboard sector in small and medium-sized companies; and that these can improve and become large, recognized and competitive in the field.
