Abstract

The present study was carried out with the purpose of comparing the structural response between the Emmedue system and Confined Masonry. For which; the structural modeling of a multifamily dwelling located in the city of Cajamarca was carried out, taking into account the characteristics and considerations for each system (EMMEDUE AND MASONRY) proposed in the E.030 "Earthquake Resistant Design" standards, E.060 "Reinforced Concrete" standard and the standard E.070 “Masonry”, and suggestions dictated by Eng. San Bartolome referring to the Emmedue system. For the structural modeling of the building, the ETABS Software was used, performing the static and dynamic seismic analyzes under different load states for each system. When making the comparison of the structural behavior of the building between the Emmedue and Confined Masonry systems; We conclude that when using the Masonry system in the building, it shows a better structural behavior since it generates less stress and drift compared to the Emmedue system.
