Abstract
Project management tools are of great relevance for the optimization of processes that lead to the fulfillment of the strategic objectives of university institutions. Through a case study, the administrative processes and procedures that are part of the execution of research, development and innovation (R+D+i) projects were determined, managing to identify the macro process of the project life cycle. Once the macroprocess has been identified, good project management practices are proposed in a tool that contributes to the improvement of workflows and time, managing to synchronize the research process, to obtain real and timely information in the follow-up and monitoring of R+D+i projects.
