Abstract
The main objective of this document was to determine the compressive strength of piles of artisanal and industrial bricks with replacement of ground glass by cement in the mortar. The percentages with which they worked were 0%, 5%, 10% and 15%, the bricks were classified according to the Technical Standard E.070, in order to carry out our design of mixtures for the mortar, the different tests were carried out to determine the aggregate properties. The piles made were 48, these were tested in compression at 28 days, and the following results were obtained: 16.53, 20.59, 21.24, 15.57 kg/cm2 for the artisanal brick piles and 48.83, 57.81, 60.51, 58.49 kg/cm2 for industrial brick piles, with replacement of 0%, 5%, 10% and 15% of ground glass, verifying the proposed hypothesis. Being 10% replacement of ground glass where it is obtained that improves resistance.
