Abstract
The production plans in the organizations are key and make the difference in the entire supply chain in the needs of the clients due to the demand for quality and delivery times of their orders; therefore, many companies are affected by not having sufficient capabilities to respond to market demands. This article presents a forecast model in a manufacturer of expanded polystyrene products in which the moving average method, simple exponential smoothing and double exponential smoothing are evaluated, in order to predict future demand and thus support decisions for proper inventory management in the company and reduce customer complaints due to delivery times.
