Abstract
Puerto Rico's location is optimum for received constantly precipitation during all year. It is reaching up to 4000 millimeters per year of rainfall and 1000 millimeters of total annual runoff. This precipitation makes to Puerto Rico a suitable place to generate energy power from clean sources, such as from the sun, air, and water. Currently the trend is to search for energy alternatives taking care of the environment and that it should be low costs. Thus, using the flow of rivers, it will be verified whether they can generate small amounts of energy without requiring large and expensive instruments to access it. Currently there are some companies that are focusing their efforts on the manufacture of small equipment to obtain low-cost energy clean.
