Abstract

Seismic excitation, in the presence of insufficient spacing between buildings, can cause damage to structures by external shocks from nearby buildings, due to the inertia force of seismic movements. In the present work, the analysis of three different buildings in their structural configuration and floor number is carried out to later quantify the force of mutual impact, generated by the seismic inertia forces. Linear History Time Analysis (ATHL) is performed in the direction of pounding analysis (East-West) obtaining the structural dynamic responses. The calculated impact force corresponds to the Interaction of said buildings. The results obtained show that a five-level building presents impact forces of 8.20 tf, 11.40 tf, 7.34 tf, 6.43 tf and 5.22 tf. This suggests approximately 24% of the basal shear.
