Abstract
The objective of this research is to analyze and determine the maximum stress of a mortar composed of cement and sand in certain proportions, when the cement is partially replaced by a percentage of 10%, 15% and 20% of volcanic pozzolana; In order to comply with what was indicated, it was decided to select the Roca Fuerte quarry, in order to obtain the coarse aggregate to later analyze its physical properties taking into account the appropriate technical standards and in this way obtain the mortar mix design. Next, mortar specimens were made and the specimens were subjected to compression for the curing periods of 7, 14 and 28 days, determining that the greater the substitution of cement for volcanic pozzolana, the compressive strength decreases, additionally it was determined that the maximum tensions obtained are presented when 10% of volcanic pozzolana is substituted in relation to the weight of the cement, even managing to exceed the maximum tension of the standard specimen.
