Abstract

The objective of this research is to carry out a geochemical survey for the generation of exploration targets in the district of Caravelí, Arequipa by 2020. The technique used for information collection was direct observation in the field. The instrument for data collection was a sampling card that was adapted by INGEMMET. Soil sampling was carried out considering the upper part of horizon B. The collected samples were sent to the laboratory for their respective analysis, then geochemical analysis was done by Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS). With the data delivered from the laboratory, and its subsequent analysis using the robust sliding window method with statistics from the near neighbor. Maps of geochemical anomalies, multi-elemental maps and metal coefficients were made. For the statistical processing of the data with the aforementioned elements, the Statistical Software Minitab 18.2 and the Geochemical software ioGAS were used. After statistical analysis, geochemical anomalies were calculated by giving us an LREI value for each value of the elements, then anomaly maps were made using the Kernel interpolation method. To complement, a multi-elemental map was made considering pathfinder elements such as Sb, As and Hg recognizing the hot zones evidencing hydrothermal activity. In this way, the exploration targets with possible economic potential were located.
