Abstract
This descriptive-propositive study was carried out with the objective of analyzing the characteristics of the admission control of patients admitted to the medical departments of a hospital, in the year 2020. In addition, it describes the causes and consequences of the increase in hospital admissions and readmissions worldwide because of an increased demand for hospitalizations. Three efficiency indicators and one quality indicator were examined, obtaining as a general result 82.9% for "bed occupancy percentage", 3.82 discharges per bed for "bed performance", 1.36 days for "bed replacement interval" and 6.54 days for "average of permanence". From these, it is interpreted that there are deficiencies in the control of hospital admissions. Based on the mentioned previously, the aspects to be considered in telehealth strategies were determined to propose a computer system that improves these indicators. It was concluded, thanks to previous research, that the implementation of telehealth strategies in the management of health services allows the modernization of clinical service processes, which contributes to improve the management of information to make it timely.
