Abstract:

This article presents the application of a numerical model aimed to develop a pavement preservation program. Given the limitation of data that seize and report pavement improvements after the perform of preservation treatments, for this work we will continue with the example to which was calibrated the model, considering that we have collected its historical background and we know its Pavement Condition Index (PCI) before and after several interventions. Finally, the analysis of alternatives to preserve pavement condition above the minimum acceptable is presented, showing the benefits in the quality of the infrastructure (service level) and the allocation of budget during its lifecycle.
