Abstract:The fourth industrial revolution and globalization 4.0 are transforming society, the economy and work, therefore it is necessary to innovate in different sectors of society such as engineering education, especially in the area of electronics, telecommunications and computer science, characterized by its rapid evolution. In this respect, it is necessary to improve curricula and teaching and learning processes to ensure the quality of academic programs and thus the relevance of the training they offer. Considering the above, the Universidad del Cauca, specifically the Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering (FIET) undertook curricular reflection of its undergraduate programs, taking into account different references, especially CDIO (Conceive, Design, Implement, and Operate). In this project, a curricular structure for the programs was established and the processes and support elements needed to achieve reflection at the macro, meso and microcurricular levels were determined. Currently FIET is working at the macrocurricular level, it has involved the stakeholders of the Institution and the environment and it has obtained interesting results that are presented in this article. |
