Abstract:

In recent years, the tendency to consume healthy products has increased, which has allowed the entrance of new products to the food and beverage sector. The present business idea arises from the identification of an unmet need in the beverage sector. As a part of the first stage, it has conducted a market research in order to identify the target customer segment and know those characteristics that is expected to be obtained from the product; furthermore, this research has enabled to estimate the demand to satisfy. In the second stage, it has been defined the composition of the beverage, the phases of the production process and the necessary manufacturing machinery for its development; in this stage, it also has been studied benefits provided by each of the medicinal herbs used in the preparation of the product. Finally, in the third stage, it has been evaluated the profitability of the project, for which was considered the total investment required to its implementation and the annual income and expenditure, based on the estimated demand. Considering these values, it has been obtained a net present value of 510,582.332 soles and an internal rate of return of 49.66%, and, consequently, it has been validated the viability of the production and sale of the proposed beverage.
