Abstract:Taking as a reference the current need for the application of new strategies in the teaching-learning process that guarantees meaningful learning, is that the institution has opted for Problem Based Learning (ABP) as a tool to achieve this goal. In this context, the Cooperative University of Colombia - UCC, Faculty of Engineering of Bogotá, in particular its Telecommunications Engineering program, has proposed to implement the ""Toy Clinic"" project as an ABP model; For this reason, it was proposed to implement the redesign of Electronic Toys, as a strategy for problem-based learning in the teaching of Telecommunications Engineering. This was developed in the laboratories and classrooms of the UCC in five phases distributed throughout each academic semester (donation of toys, collection, classification, repair and delivery to low-income children in Bogotá) with the support of the entire academic community and where the student is the main actor. What generated a structured and lasting learning, improving students' motivation and vision of applicability of prior knowledge, allowing the development of cognitive and attitudinal competences in students, among which we can mention: the acquisition of assertive knowledge of the real , human, technical, technological, welfare with social responsibility; founding a high degree of leadership, entrepreneurial capacity, creativity and motivation for the construction of the social fabric in Colombia.
