Abstract:This article presents the construction and characterization process of a digital Photo colorimeter using visible light range LED’s (Red, Green and Blue) as light sources, a TCS3200 as light sensing element and two PIC18F2550 microcontrollers to implement the device Firmware. The article begins with an introduction where it is shown the importance of developing laboratory equipment for formative research. The second section is focused on the construction process of the device with the participation of some students from the research seedbed of Industrial Process Control (CONPI in Spanish) from the Fundación Tecnológica Antonio de Arévalo, the third section is about the current state of the project and also about the characterization process that has been followed with the developed device and finally on the fourth section it is presented the future works and the conclusions about the work done.
