Abstract:Given the mission critical nature of data centers, metrics must provide a holistic understanding of the data center behavior. After thoroughly reviewing existing data center metrics, this paper proposes a novel framework for more accurate metrics for data centers using a multidimensional approach. Performance is examined across four different sub-dimensions: productivity, efficiency, sustainability, and operations. Risk specifically associated with each of those sub-dimensions is contemplated. External risks are also considered independently of performance, namely location risk, global risks and site infrastructure risk. | |
