Abstract:

This paper presents the design and implementation of a virtual instrumentation system for equipment plastometer and dilatometer to determine the degree of oxidation of coal samples by analyzing its plastic properties. The experimental design and implementation of the sensing, conditioning and acquisition system of the variables that define the plastic properties of the coal supplied by the plastometer and dilatometer and then the design of the virtual instrumentation through the use of the LabView platform with the functions of Capture, pre-processing, storage, visualization and identification of the properties of the coals for their characterization. The electronic instrumentation system implemented was tested using three coal samples previously collected and selected from different coal mines in the Department of Boyacá in Colombia, where satisfactory results were obtained in terms of plasticity and dilatation to determine their application.. The implemented prototype applied virtual instrumentation techniques for the measurement of temperature variables and linear displacement of position proportional to the dilation and plasticity of coal using digital signal processing algorithms with benefits such as safety, portability, adaptability and reliability to estimate the rheological properties of the samples coal tested and establish their quality and industrial application.
