Abstract:

In the academic field, writing is conceived, by most teachers and students, as a skill acquired in the pre-university stages. Specifically, in Engineering, writing is considered an issue that does not concern them or about which they do not need reflection. However, in engineering writing is a constant (invisible) practice for belonging and cooperating with others in that disciplinary community. The objective of this article is to describe and conceptualize the process that the students carry out during the elaboration of the ""Final Work"" in an Engineering career. To do this, the perspectives of the students and teachers involved were taken into account (which includes certain institutional documents and the final work itself).
