Análisis de Redes Sociales para las Operaciones Logísticas en América Latina: el caso de Panamá

Abstract:

This paper uses Social Network Analysis as a tool for the analysis of communication patterns in organizations involved in humanitarian logistics operations in Latin America. The objective of this paper is to present a methodology to study communication policies and patterns in order to define and analyze network structures in Panama. Social Network Analysis consist of the use of network topologies to map and measure relationships and flows between people, groups, organizations, or other information/knowledge processing entities. Measures such as centrality degree, closeness, and betweenness among others, will be translated into measures of efficiency and effectiveness among the organizations, institutions and individuals involved in humanitarian logistics in these countries to help generate knowledge about best practices and procedures applied in each of these countries.

Resumen:

En esta publicación se presenta el Análisis de Redes Sociales como herramienta para el análisis de los patrones de comunicación en organizaciones de logística humanitaria en América Latina. El objetivo de esta publicación es la de presentar esta metodología para analizar los patrones de comunicación existente entre organizaciones de gestión de riesgo y desastres, así como de logística humanitaria en Panamá. El análisis de redes sociales estudia la topología de red de comunicaciones y midiendo las relaciones y flujo de información entre personas, grupos y organizaciones. Se utilizan medidas tales como grado de centralidad, cercanía e intermediación, entre otras a fin de ver la efectividad y eficiencia de las comunicaciones entre dichas organizaciones en Panamá.
