Evolución y desarrollo de un entorno de aprendizaje colaborativo que utiliza un sitio de red social como herramienta de comunicación en la educación superior - Caso Práctico

Abstract:

This paper presents the results of the second phase of the use of a social network to improve the teaching and learning of students in engineering program at a Latin America University. Initially, the idea of using a social network was originated on the premise of social networks are excelent tools for collaborative learning. In this study, two experiences were carried out in two consecutive semesters. The results shows the success of the use of a social network as a tool for teaching and learning. The indicators are the same used in the first phase of the project, allowing you to compare with previous results. Also, it is concluded that the social network has advantages over methods used during the first phase and previously to it. Furthermore, we conclude that there is an increase in the interest and participation of students in the learning process over the last three years.

Resumen:

En este trabajo se muestran los resultados de la segunda fase de la utilización de una red social para mejorar la enseñanza y el aprendizaje de los estudiantes del programa de ingeniería en una Unviersidad de Latinoamérica. Inicialmente, se decidió utilizar una red social teniendo en consideración la idea de que las redes sociales son excelentes herramientas para el aprendizaje colaborativo. En este estudio, dos experiencias se llevaron a cabo en dos semestres consecutivos. Los resultados muestran el éxito de la utilización de una red social como herramienta para la enseñanza y el aprendizaje. Los indicadores son los mismos utilizados en la primera fase del proyecto, lo que permite compararlos. Así también, se concluye que la red social tiene ventajas sobre los métodos utilizados durante la primera fase y anteriormente a ella. Además, llegamos a la conclusión de que hay un aumento en el interés y la participación de los estudiantes en el proceso de aprendizaje a lo largo de los últimos tres años.
