Abstract:

The cadmium is a toxic metal that can generate serious problems for the human health. This work is about the development of an experimental method that allows to get an approximate diagnosis of percentage of the cadmium present in the soil, which could introduce into the metabolism of the plants and in this way to enter in the food of the people that consumes agricultural products. The results indicate that exists a potential moderate risk because of the 18 % of the cadmium present in the soil might be mobilized and incorporated in the plants.

Resumen:

El cadmio es un metal tóxico que puede generar problemas graves para la salud humana. Este trabajo ofrece una mirada a la gestión del proceso relacionada con el desarrollo de una técnica experimental que permita hacer un diagnóstico aproximado de qué porcentaje del cadmio presente en el suelo podría introducirse en el metabolismo de las plantas para finalmente llegar a la población que consume productos agrícolas. Los resultados indican que existe un riesgo potencial moderado, ya que el 18% del cadmio que está presente en el suelo podría movilizarse e incorporarse en las plantas.
