Abstract

The use of superplsticizers, has transformed the properties of concrete in the last decades, concrete of high strengths, and excellent workability, can be obtained due to use of chemical superplsticizers. Some techniques have been used to try understanding the complex phenomenon associated to the use of superplsticizers. This article, displays the observations of a study that evaluate the effect of a Naphthalene type superplasticizer, in the initial stages of hydration (1 h, 3 h, 5 h, 1 d, 7 d and 28 d) of a Ordinary Portland cement and a Pozzolanic Cement type through pursuit of some products of hydration, applying the techniques of Differential thermal analysis.
