The purpose of this study is to quantify and analyze the scientific production in Venezuela on blended learning
over the period 2002-2010, using a bibliometric study. The results of a bibliometric study allow to identify
relationships between producers of science, current trends by running the knowledge and the ways through which
will continue in the future (Carpenter and Peirson, 1981, Okubo, 1997). The study to characterize, in a very
rough, the research profile of an academic institution in relation to a theme (Pritchard, 1969). Apply mathematical
models that describe the social phenomenon by the laws of Bradford (1948), Lotka (1926) and Raisig (1960). As
result, this study obtained an objective criterion to identify higher education institutions that have published on
issues related to blended learning. Additionally, the recent (2006) and comparatively low production in Venezuela
is documentary to which we refer. Finally, regarding the behavior of the results compared with mathematical
models was found that the distribution of journal articles according to their degree of presence are consistent with
the scientific dispersion model of Bradford and not applied as described by Price.
