Abstract

Any modern process of product development requires operating in complex environments and various kinds of creative decision-making. This issue has to do with taking over one of the permanent coordinates of innovation: the acceptance of change as a fundamental behavior in people. In this sense, the globalization processes, the changes at organizational level and the obsolescence of knowledge, are generating a strong impact on society, but particularly in the business and academic fields, because they are the primary audience for value generation, management of knowledge and technology in society. Despite all these signs, engineering as a discipline, has been barely devoted to research and teach new forms of encouraging creativity, within the of skills desired in graduates.
"Creativity & Group Based Learning" (CGBL) is an educational tool that has been developed in Product Design Engineering at Federico Santa Maria Technical University, which seeks to strengthen a Learning by Design model, allowing to promote the creativity of a group of students, encouraging interaction with their academic contents and environment, being supported to use interaction technologies in digital environments.
