Knowledge Capture Systems in Knowledge Management

Abstract:

In this paper we discuss knowledge capture systems and how they support knowledge management processes.  The development of knowledge capture systems requires the utilization of technologies that facilitate externalization and internalization processes.  One specific type of knowledge capture system based on context-based reasoning is pre-sented: the Context-based Intelligent Tactical Knowledge Acquisition (CITKA), including how the system can be used to model collaborative behaviors.  Finally, barriers to the use of knowledge capture systems are also discussed.
