Abstract:

The problem that includes women in developing and participating in STEM areas (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) motivates several organizations worldwide to look for strategies and methodologies that encourage women and girls to approach science. In Latin America, especially in Ecuador, women who are pursuing their undergraduate university studies related to these fields represent a considerable number. This document is intended to present the achievements of the activities organized by the WiE (women in engineering) affinity group of the Student Branch of the Universidad de las Fuerzas Armadas through strategies, organization and development of various events that focus on involving more members and professionals to take part in several projects that promote the integration of women and girls in science. The initiatives carried out by this team, formed by men and women, encourage the new generations of the country to enthusiastically contemplate engineering careers in their future.
