Abstract:

At this moment is difficult to think in a world without internet, that is why it is important to guarantee the correct and efficient network operation and the easy administration. On the other hand, it is important to use new technologies used by companies such as Google and Facebook that improve the operation of the networks. One of this technologies is Software Defined network – SDN, which allow centralizing the administration of the network and virtualizing its operation. This paper presents the SDN technology, its advantages, implementation mechanisms and a group of application than can be used to create and configure it.
