Abstract:

SUMMARY The present study of solubility of cadmium, was carried out for different forms of precipitates of this ion, at three different temperatures and in a pH range of 0 to 20. This study was carried out to predict thermodynamically under what form, in what temperature range and in what pH range we can have the lowest concentration of aqueous cadmium and if it complies with the Environmental Quality Standards (ECA) provided in Peruvian law (SUPREME DECREE N ° 004-2017 issued by MINAM). Likewise, it should be mentioned and highlighted that the study being thermodynamic is clearly predictive, it is complemented with the presentation of the Pourbaix diagram of the Cd-S-H2O, which means that the conclusions of this study must be corroborated with a kinetic study. This is done with the data from the weathering study of a polymetallic mine tailings.
