Abstract:

This paper presents the implementation of a cascade control strategy for the existing level control module in the Control Laboratory of the Faculty of Engineering, at the Ricardo Palma University. For this, a level transmitter and a flow transmitter are fitted, as well as a Simatic S7-1200 PLC with its respective analog input / output modules and an HMI screen. Subsequently, the STEP 7 BASIC V14 software was used for the scaling of the analog signals of the control loops of level (primary) and flow (secondary), and the programming and tuning of the controllers continued with the trial and error procedure, giving as best response a PI control for the primary loop, and a P control for the secondary. Likewise, the PLC Web server was programmed to allow a web browser of a computer or mobile device to allow the authorized user to access and monitor the process remotely.
