Abstract:

This article presents the results of the analysis of the main skills developed by students who volunteer for the protection of animals in the university, and its impact on professional training, based on the identified skills as necessary to have employment in 2020, according to the study carried out by the World Economic Forum. The main results show that women have a majority participation in groups of volunteers on a country level in Ecuador and the same behavior is reflected at a local level in a university at the Animal Protective Group Claudia Poppe. Among the skills that volunteers have considered to be more developed are responsibility, optimism and teamwork, which are closely related to the development of values, soft and social skills considered relevant in a workplace. On the other hand, it was possible to determine, according to the system of qualifications equivalences of the ESPOL that the volunteers have an average of 7.8 of general average, identifying that 64% of the students are in a range of Good (7 to 7.99) , 34% of Very Good (8 to 8.99) and 2% in Excellent.
