Abstract:

This research work is based on an analysis of the use of techniques and tools of project management and its practical application in the construction sector. It is a fact that projects currently have a high failure rate which was corroborated in this research work through a diagnosis made in the city of Cartagena through a survey of 22 project managers of major construction companies Currently, they are carrying out housing projects and for this reason it was determined that the techniques and tools of wide global recognition and suggested by the most relevant standards and methodology are not being used in construction projects. This paper shows the shortcomings and strengths of the companies when applying the techniques and tools of project management and a guide is prepared to use the same specific recommendations for the construction sector
