Abstract:

The lean six sigma methodology with its stages DMAIC (define, measure, analyze, improvement, control) was used in the current research to improve the contract elaboration process at the legal department in a public higher education institution. In the define stage, it was identified that process time did not comply with the standards and customers were highly dissatisfied. In the measurement stage, process information was collected and variables which influence the response time were identified. A stratification analysis was made in order to identify critical variables that affect the contract elaboration process. Six solutions were proposed for process improvement and achieve a significant reduction in the contract elaboration time. It effectivity were verified through simulations in Promodel.
