Abstract:

Abstract- The purpose of this research is to present a new option in the design of open channels without coating, considering the maximum permissible flow velocity method that can withstand the runway without being eroded, research contemplates Manning's model in the continuity equation. The traditional maximum permissible speed method presents a possible solution, which can include parameters that categorizing to the channel as width; the channel design should be readjusted under the latter consideration. This procedure can be improved considering the depth of draught in the correction of flow velocity, proposed by Russia, for channels dug into colloidal and non-colloidal soils. The research proposes a range of solutions for the aforementioned method, obtaining designs that meet the conditions of hydraulic operation; in addition, it generates more efficient designs (it has savings in the upper width and volume of excavation).
