Abstract:

The development of hybrid renewable energy systems has facilitated the integration of renewable energy in a building. This means an improvement in energy sustainability that can meet current and future energy needs with a lower environmental impact. However, the optimization of the hybrid system has become a complex task. The present study focuses on identifying the most promising renewable energy sources, for their installation in the available spaces. The hybrid system has been proposed to be connected to the electrical network of the building dedicated to laboratories and classrooms of the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana in Guayaquil. Technical analysis and reduction of greenhouse effect gases are carried out. The PVsyst software has been used to size the photovoltaic generator, while HOMER Pro is used for optimization, technical analysis and emission reduction. The results show that the power consumption of the conventional network can be reduced by 66.8% and the emission of 20,971(kg / year) of carbon dioxide can be avoided.
