Abstract:

Online laboratories help students to perform lab assignments from a different geographical locations, through the use of internet and the adaptation of lab experiments to be accessed remotely. A possible configuration is the hybrid laboratories, that includes the use of a physical local experiment equipment, and a set of either virtual or remote laboratory components. One of the issues of this type of setups is how to determine whether if the student is really performing the lab activities or if they are presenting somebody else work. Therefore, it is important to take all the necessary steps to keep the students engaged while preventing academic dishonesty. This paper proposed an Anti-Cheating lab kit case, which is a method to prevent plagiarism and cheating in the engineering laboratories. This case includes several measures to avoid dishonesty in engineering courses, such as software and hardware solutions. This paper will go into more detail how the lab case was designed and the challenges in included.
